I spent 4 years at Reliance, and I can tell you that Reliance is built different. What is the core Reliance Ethos? I’ll try and articulate what I saw. 1. Having infinite patience and waiting for the right time to strike 2. Being ruthlessly competitive, and making no pretence to hide this 3. Taking super long-term bets in business, but mostly on people4. Assymetrically rewarding people who create the most value and ring-fencing them from competition 5. Exploiting the last mover advantageLove them or hate them, but there’s just SO much to learn from this company.

A decade and one completed ✅Today I celebrate ELEVEN whole years in Barclays UK which is wild 🤪Last year I created a video with some of my highlights over the last decade to celebrate, this year I’ve decided to share some of my learns 👀🔑 Find your purpose, what drives you, what gets you out of bed in the morning - if your role doesn’t align to this, find something in the business that does 👀🔑 Surround yourself the right people, the people that you aspire to be, those that will fill your cup without a question 🫶🏾🔑 The only person you need to overcome, is yourself.. challenge yourself, learn to be comfortable with moments of uncomfortability 📈🔑 There is no linear roadmap to defining your career, take every opportunity as an opportunity to learn or develop yourself 🤌🏾🔑 Your career path is your own and no one else’s - avoid comparing your success with others 🤷🏾♀️🔑 Enjoy the ride, we spend MOST of our life’s in the world of work and there is NOTHING I could think of worst than if you spend that time hating what you do.. 🙃🥲 and really it comes back to my first point, find your purpose, what drives you.. the rest will follow 🙏🏾

>>> Why you should stop saying “I’m humbled…” >>>So many of us use these words when we announce a new role, promotion, or receive recognition. We err on the side of “modesty”, because we don't want to seem arrogant.Ironically, saying those words has the opposite effect.❌ Don’t confuse MODESTY with HUMILITY*** To be humble means to literally LOWER YOURSELF in dignity or importance. *** <<-- STOP THAT!❌ It sounds like you THINK you’re supposed to say that, but no one actually expects it.❌ If you don’t think you deserve it (HUMBLE), then give back the reward or promotion!❌ Because of the above, you don’t sound authentic. That is NOT to say you should be a pompous jerk. *** NO POMPOUS JERKS PLEASE! ***Instead, consider saying these phrases that are likely what you ACTUALLY feel, and therefore will be authentic:▶️ I am THRILLED to start a new job / accept a promotion to the role of…▶️ I am so PROUD of the work we did to get this award…▶️ I am so GRATEFUL for the opportunity to work with such a supportive team…Note - you can weave in appreciation of others while also acknowledging your own contribution.Congratulations on whatever it is you did - enjoy the celebration! 🙌

A Journey of Growth: From USPS to Real Estate and Back AgainReflecting on my career path, I’m reminded that growth often comes from unexpected detours. My journey began at USPS in 2014 as a PSE, where I learned the ropes of diligent service and leadership. By 2015, I had risen to the role of a career supervisor, but life had other plans in 2018, and I found myself stepping away to support my family during my husband Navy career transitions. This pause in my postal career wasn’t a full stop; it was a semicolon, marking a brief interlude before a significant continuation. The licenses in mortgages and real estate I acquired and the knowledge I gained during this period were not just about expanding my skill set—they were about expanding my perspective on service and leadership.Late 2022 marked my return to USPS, a comeback that was both familiar and new. Within months, I was detailed as a supervisor and then fully promoted, a testament to the enduring value of the experiences I had gathered along the way.Today, as I lead the Everett S&DC morning operation and champion the role of a WestPac Operational Excellence Ambassador, I carry with me the lessons from every part of my journey. It’s a role that fully supports USPS’s goal of continuous improvement, and I am a living example of that ethos. To those contemplating a pause in their career, remember: it’s not just a break; it’s an opportunity to grow, learn, and return even stronger. Your path may not be linear, but it will be uniquely yours, rich with experiences that only you can bring to the table.#CareerJourney #USPS #Leadership #ContinuousImprovement #ProfessionalGrowth

Taking a moment to appreciate how far I've come as I wrap up year 2 at American Airlines. My accomplishments are not measured by the projects I had the opportunity to lead, but by the shift in perspective I grew into along the way. For instance (1)I grew into not seeing challenges as roadblocks, but an opportunity of growth and learning. Embracing the discomfort, persevere through the setbacks, and use this so called “challenge” to develop a new skill that will later expand my capabilities. (2)I grew out of my imposter syndrome phase and leaned into my authenticity. Being true to myself, leading with integrity, and staying genuine in all my interactions. (3)Lastly, I grew into mindful productivity. Being realistic with my own capabilities and only taking on what I can handle. Year 3 I am ready for you 😉 #celebratesuccess #workanniversary #yeartwo #womeninaviation
