After coming home from the grocery store, Sophie and Keefe decided to go to the mall for human clothes.
"So Foster, can we get a batman t-shirt?" Keefe asked, already excited as we walk into the mall. I nod my head, laughing.
"Sure." I suck in a breath from being around so many people again. Keefe notices and reaches for my hand to hold. It's not that Sophie's mind felt overwhelmed; she knew how to put up a wall around her mind.
She took his hand and twined their fingers together. To be honest, Sophie wanted to stay in that moment forever. They started walking around the mall and Sophie spotted a Starbucks A/N Sorry I just couldn't help myself 😜 Hey, I'm only 15.
Keefe saw someone sipping a caramel frappe and gawked, "Foster, what is that?!" she laughed lightly. "That's a Caramel Frappe." Keefe made puppy eyes at her.
"Can we get one?" He asked in a whisper. Sophie bit her lip and nodded. "Sure." she walked up to the register and ordered one. Keefe nudged her, whispering "2" Sophie smiled a little and told the barista 2. He nodded and went to go make their drinks.
5 minutes later, Sophie and Keefe were sitting at a cafe table, sipping their frappes. Sophie noticed Keefe's face lit up on the first sip.

This may beat Mallowmelt!!!" He gulped it down in a matter of seconds. Sophie started cracking up. Caramel Frappes were really good, but nothing could beat the amazing elvin delicacy.
Keefe smiled, happy to see her smiling again. "So, what was that 'Normal Thing to Do list' all about?" Sophie bit her lip. "It's nothing, really." Keefe took her hands.
"Y'know, Foster. I like you just the way you are." Sophie had to crack a smile to that. "Good to know." They both just sat there in silence for a little while as Keefe started to tear up.
"What's wrong?" Sophie looked pretty worried, I mean, she was. Keefe just shook his head, smiling. "They're happy tears, I've just never felt this way Foster." His smirk returned pretty fast though.
A few hours later, they were done shopping for groceries, although, Keefe had made it really complicated with all his questions about human foods.
"Ahhhhh," Keefe breathed as him and Sophie were sitting on the couch of their house, eating pasta. "This is actually really good, Foster! I thought you said you couldn't cook?" He smirked, making Sophie blush.
"Well, I can't cook elvin foods. But when I lived here, I knew how to cook because my parents left me home alone a lot and I had to feed myself when they weren't around." Sophie's voice got a little choked as she admitted this. She obviously missed them, but now that she lived near them, but couldn't visit, it hurt more.
Keefe must've noticed, because he reached for Sophie's hand and squeezed it gently. They're perfect. It's all Sophie could think about. Maybe living in Los Angeles wouldn't be so bad.
Sophie suddenly remembered something. "Keefe! We have to check in with the Black Swan!" before Keefe could respond to her, she sprinted out of the living room and up the stairs to her floor. She went to her study and grabbed her imparter off her desk. Sophie ran back down to where Keefe was, hoping it wasn't too late.
"Please, Please, Please be ready," Sophie prayed under her breath that they had all been gathered together so once they're hailed, they'd be able to say hi to everyone. "Show me Grady and Edaline." They're faces popped up on the screen and Sophie nearly fainted from relief, well she would've if Keefe didn't catch her. Face red from blushing profusely, Sophie straightened up to say hi to everyone.
"Hey Grady and Edaline, oh and Linh, Bangs Boy, Biana, Fitzy-poo and our cinnamon roll. Oof, can't forget our shorty." Marella death glared at Keefe through the imparter, as did Fitz and Tam. Sophie shoved Keefe lightly and Tam snickered. "Ignore him," Sophie told them, glaring at Keefe but he just smirked.
"How are you guys holding up?" Sophie asked quietly. She had left Grady and Edaline a note but she knew her friends had no clue until her parents had to break the news to them. Their friends all looked down.
"You could've brought us, you know." Biana said quietly, shuffling her feet.
"Or at least said bye in person." Fitz added. Their friends looked like they were nodding, but were too scared to admit it.
"I'm sorry," Sophie told them "I just didn't want you guys to bear the pain."
"We would've been okay." Biana whispered, her eyes tearing up.
"And why did Keefe go?" Fitz asked the question, breaking the tension, but also adding more.
"I didn't ask him to, he just came at night at midnight when I was leaving. He didn't listen when I told him not to." Sophie explained, though, it didn't seem to help.
"It's fine," Linh promised, removing the lingering awkwardness/tension in the air, "We just really miss you Sophie. And you Keefe."
"Don't worry too much. We'll visit." Keefe told them all, bringing a wave of sighs of relief.
"Well bye, Sophie and Keefe," Grady said, taking the imparter from Linh, "We'll miss you so much!" Grady and Edaline said in unison before cutting through the call. Sophie eyes watered.
Keefe pulled her into a tight hug, "Everything is gonna be alright, Foster. We have each other." And with those words, both of them fell asleep right then and there.
