Temenos’s Chapter 4 story in Octopath Traveler 2 serves as the conclusion to his murder mystery plotline. This walkthrough will give you tips for the dungeons and the final boss fight as you close the case.

Southern Nameless Village Traverse

To start this chapter, you need to reach the Nameless Village – a hidden town that can only be accessed through the Western Topu’hopu Traverse on Toto’haha.

Go north from the Western Tropu’hopu Traverse to reach the Southern Nameless Village Traverse. Make your way north through these Danger Level 45 ruins to finally reach the Nameless Village.

Nameless Village Trial

The chapter begins with a 30-year-old flashback to Kaldena’s childhood – it turns out that she lived through the tragedy in the Fellsun Ruins. Becoming a Sacred Guard captain was all part of her plan for revenge.

Head north to the Wandering Wood once you regain control of Temenos. Pick any path you want inside the woods, but you won’t be able to reach Kaldena. Temenos will eventually suggest finding a guide to take you through the woods.

Return to the Nameless Village and use Temenos’s Path Action to Guide the marked villager, Shirlutto, back to the Wandering Wood.

This time, you’ll be able to take on this Danger Level 45 area without getting lost. Most enemies in the woods are weak to Polearm attacks, so bring Hikari along to help break shields. Once you reach the end of the path, speak to Shirlutto once again to receive three Superior Jerky.

Rifted Rock

This Danger Level 45 cave is the final dungeon in this chapter, but it’s far more straightforward than the Wandering Wood. There are only two chests to find here – one containing a Hallowed Rod, and the other a Void Amulet.

You’ll witness Kaldena’s ritual as soon as you enter Rifted Rock. In here, you need to be ready for enemies with Light weaknesses, which should be no problem for Temenos.

Boss Battle: Captain Kaldena

Captain Kaldena is waiting for you on the ritual platform next to the Save Point, and the battle will begin right after her short chat with Temenos. Kaldena is a boss with high HP and two phases, so be ready for a tough fight.

Kaldena specializes in Dark attacks, so the Void Amulet you just picked up will come in handy. She’s able to lower your Elem. Def. and cause Blindness and Terror as well, making this fight even tougher if you’re unprepared for the status effects.

To make matters worse, Kaldena can automatically kill any blinded party members.

Kaldena is also able to reduce your BP with certain attacks. A Merchant is useful for countering those abilities with Donate BP, and Osvald is a huge help to cover elemental weaknesses, as usual. Castti’s Concoct can be quite useful here as well if you need to remove negative status effects from the whole party at once.

In the aftermath of the battle, the Sacred Guard is stripped of its authority when Temenos and the Order of the Sacred Flame bring several injustices to light. But, in true Temenos fashion, he claims there are still mysteries to solve.

Temenos will learn the Heavenly Shine EX Skill after the epilogue, which allows him to consume all of his current SP to deal Light damage to all enemies – the more SP consumed, the higher the damage.
